About Us


The purpose of the Long Island Parent Center is to help parents and professionals get services that meet the needs of their children with disabilities, age birth through 21, by:
  • Offering information about services available and how they are provided
  • Promoting the provision of special education services in the least restrictive environment
  • Demonstrating support of NYSED Special Education Reform initiatives
  • Encouraging parent involvement in their child’s education
The LIPC is available to assist parents by providing information on available resources and by enhancing their skills through training.

LIPC is staffed by:
  • Project Coordinator, Ms. Elizabeth DeFazio-Rodriguez (Bilingual)
  • Training Coordinator, Ms. Helene Fallon
  • Technical Assistant, Ms. Keri Larsen (Bilingual)
  • Community Outreach Worker, Ms. Janice Anderson-Small
